What makes the cranberry so special

Cranberries, not to be confused with cowberries, are native to North America where they are still widely cultivated today. The large, dark red berries have a light, crunchy flesh. The berries grow on bushes that entwine near the ground.
As early as 1550, the Native Americans used the cranberry as a staple food. Nowadays, it is a traditional and popular side dish in the American Thanksgiving menu, among other things.

WHAT DO CRANBERRIES TASTE LIKE?

Cranberries have a tart and sour taste and are not suitable for pure consumption. If you want to eat the berries fresh, you should definitely use ripe berries and drizzle them with a little honey so that they taste less bitter.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CRANBERRY AND THE LINGONBERRY?

The native cranberry is a close relative of the cranberry. Both berries have a tart taste and a bright red colour. However, a cranberry is as big as a cherry whereas a lingonberry is as small as a pea.

WHAT MAKES CRANBERRY JUICE FROM RABENHORST SO SPECIAL?

At Rabenhorst, we hardly remove any natural cloudy substances from the juice, which means that the naturally occurring secondary plant substances of the cranberry remain largely present.
A special filling technique is used to preserve the secondary plant substances such as proanthocyanins as much as possible. The heat effect on the product and the oxygen input into the product are kept as low as possible.

HOW MANY CRANBERRIES ARE IN THE CRANBERRY PURE JUICE FROM FIRST PRESSING FROM RABENHORST?

There are approximately 107 grams of cranberries in 100 ml of juice. We only process freshly harvested and ripe cranberries in our own press house. So, there is a lot of juice in one cranberry!
